Wendy P. Jones, CAGS

Wendy is a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP #2818) and Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island, and her Master of Arts degree and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in School Psychology from Tufts University. She has worked as a school psychologist in New Hampshire and California, and has provided psychological services to students in all grade levels.

Wendy has a specialty in the areas of behavior and Emotional Disturbance. She has provided trainings to school staff and has developed interventions specific to students with needs in these areas. Wendy works with students, parents and school staff to understand the function of behaviors of concern in relation to various emotional needs and academic challenges. She provides recommendations for home and school so that students and families can learn new strategies to promote behavioral and academic success.

Other areas of interest include individual and group counseling, program development and implementation, classroom intervention and management, consultation, home-school communication, self-advocacy, resilience and workshop presentation. She also enjoys working with students around issues of grief, anxiety, anger management, self-esteem and empowerment. Wendy was a co-presenter for Dynamic Interventions’ workshop, “The Fall and Rise of Adolescent Girls.” She also runs groups such as a support group for siblings of students with special needs.

Wendy has been recognized by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the William S. Hart Union High School District for her innovative work as a school psychologist and dedication to students and their families. Wendy is an active member of the California Association of School Psychologists and the National Association of School Psychologists.
